The Wreck of The Star Goddess

The July Session was dominated by the salvage of The Star Goddess, a crashed airship, and the rescue of the vessel's crew.

The session began with the party traveling based on directions from the interrogated Pterrafolk survivor towards the wreck of the vessel. They quickly came upon the wreck, suspended 60+ feet in the forest canopy above. Crew from the ship above called out, pleading the group for help getting back to Port Nyzanru, past the dangerous undead and dinosaurs that seem to be infesting the forests here.

When the group approached to begin climbing, they spotted a large hunting party of ghouls hiding ineffectually in the woods under the vessel, waiting for a meal (and not initially noticing that the party noticed them). When Fi Fi headed towards one of the trees to climb up to the Star Goddess, the ghouls attacked the remainder of the group on the ground.

The ghouls were tougher than expected, taking a lot to bring each down, and giving the party ample opportunity to put their new abilities to the test. The ghouls showed more cunning than previous undead that the group had encountered, including an attempt to set up an ambush, and a willingness to break and disengage once the battle turned against them.

Each ghoul was marked with a blue triangle on it's forehead.

With the ghouls dispatched, the party made their way up to the Star Goddess, making an easy climb up various vines and branches. They began negotiating with the small party of starving and terrified survivors from the vessel, discussing their situation, and a return to Port Nyzanru. Fi Fi provided food in the form of Goodberry to these starving folk before the group noticed several lumbering 4 armed zombie gorillas approaching in the trees.

The 4-armed zombie gorillas didn't seek parley, and began moving in to attack. Maxwell used the spell Feather Fall (and a little convincing) to help the crew evacuate down to the forest floor below, and the team engaged the Zombie Gorillas.

These creatures were ridiculously tough and capable of absorbing harm, with one needing to be hit multiple times before falling 70 feet and being destroyed, and the others needing similar extreme measures. Things looked very rough for the party a couple of times here, with multiple folks taking hits that brought them down, risking death by blood loss.

Eventually, the party carried the day, and bloodied, but victorious, descended to the forest floor to continue negotiations with the suitably impressed crew of the Star Goddess. They agreed to the following payment.
1. 600 gold pieces
2. Identification for Chimis' magic dagger
3. Passage on a ship down to the southern reaches of Ollianerb

Now the group just needs to reach Port Nyzanru and keep the captain of the Star Goddess alive for the whole trip.
